Call for Papers: 1st European Workshop in International Studies

Scholarships available for young researchers from non-EU countries

 

The European International Studies Association (EISA, formerly the ECPR-Standing Group in International Relations) is inviting paper proposals for the 1st European Workshops in International Studies (EWIS) in Tartu, Estonia, from 5 to 8 June 2013.

 

Papers may be proposed for one of fourteen workshops that have been selected by the programme chairs. The list of workshops with descriptions can be found here. Each workshop may accept up to 20 participants. Please note that participants will be expected to attend their workshop for the entire period of the conference. The registration fee will be EUR 50 (full) / EUR 30 (research students).

Applicants will be notified by 25th January 2013 about the outcome of the selection process.

 

Organisers invite young scholars from non-EU countries to apply for scholarships that will cover their accommodation during EWIS event in Tartu for the duration of 5 nights. The participants themselves must cover the participation fee, travel costs to and from Tartu as well as all other related costs. 

 

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are: 
- PhD or equivalent academic degree, or enrolment in a doctoral degree programme
- maximum age: 40 years
- citizenship of a non-EU and non-EEA country 

Eligible candidates must be engaged in the research project that is relevant to the issues addressed in a workshop to which he or she applies.
